Script Writing

Films, shows and talks need great scripts that tell great stories. Find out about the scripts I write and perform.

More about me

I am a writer specialising in science, technology, heritage and culture. My most recent book projects are The Periodic Table for Dorling Kindersley, Quantum Physics for Barnes & Noble, and Cracking the Elements published by Hachette.

Much of my writing is for museums and exhibitions, and I have worked on projects with the Science Museum Group, National Trust, Royal Shakespeare Company, Natural History Museum, English Heritage, Royal College of Music, Oxford University and the Royal Society, as well as on permanent and touring exhibitions all over the world. I also increasingly work on scripts and voiceovers for short films.

With Dea Birkett, I run TextWorkshop, offering text-writing training – and access to our archive of funny examples of text – to museum colleagues.

I served as a school governor for over ten years, including chairing the secondary school local board for three years. As a volunteer I ran weekly author workshops with students at Dashwood Banbury Academy, and later, weekly science workshops for Wykham Park Academy. I was chair of Banbury Museum Trust from 2020-2025.

I also perform and write music, through my solo songwriting and by contributing violin and vocals to Liam Vincent and the Odd Foxes, the Linda Moylan Band and Women of Folk.
